The Tour de Farm dinner at the Walker is special for quite a few reasons.  Firstly, the chefs; that much culinary talent working on one meal is just amazing.  Second, the site; who wouldn’t want to have a snazzy dinner on the grounds of the Walker Art Center?  And third, but really most importantly, it highlights the work of urban farms and some amazing pint-sized farmers.

Scott and I went out to meet the fine farmers of the Youth Farm & Market Project who were tending 3 plots in South Minneapolis.   They gave us a thorough tour of their work while telling us all about the care and feeding of all their goods.

A fist full of carrots for everyone!

When was the last time you watched kids enjoy vegetables this much?

This grapevine didn’t make it.

Everyone needs a raspberry elf.

Weeding gives ample opportunity to munch.

One of our guides thinks Scott is being silly.
